Establishing Electric Service



Transfer of Existing Service
SCES requires each prospective customer desiring electric service to:
Service for New Construction
There are additional requirements for establishing service for new construction. To obtain new service each customer must also: SCES can install electric service only after satisfactory inspection has been performed by an authorized representative of the Division of Fire Prevention, Department of Insurance, State of Tennessee.

Discontinuation of Service

SCES may refuse to connect or may discontinue service for the: This includes the theft of current or the appearance of current theft devices on the premises of the customer and past due accounts. In the case of a past due account, all delinquent bills must be paid in full along with a reconnect fee before service will be restored.

The discontinuance of service by SCES for any of the above causes does not release the customer from his obligation to SCES for payment of minimum bills as specified in contracts or any other amounts due SCES.

By Customer
Customers who have fulfilled their contract terms and wish to discontinue service must give at least three days written notice to that effect, unless contract specified otherwise. Notice to discontinue service prior to expiration of contract term will not relieve the customer from any minimum or guaranteed payment under any contract or rate.

Outdoor Lighting
Outdoor lighting is available to SCES customers for a monthly charge. SCES will supply, install, and maintain the light fixture, all the equipment pertaining to the fixture, and furnish electrical energy to the customer. Outdoor lighting charges vary.
